The deal marks Kuwait’s entry into the growing list of countries operating the combat-proven UAV system.
The Bayraktar TB2 is a medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) tactical armed UAV capable of conducting intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and armed attack missions. It has been widely exported and used in various conflicts, demonstrating its effectiveness in modern warfare.
This acquisition will significantly enhance Kuwait’s military capabilities, particularly in border surveillance, reconnaissance operations, and precision strike capabilities. The TB2’s proven track record in various operational environments makes it an attractive option for countries seeking to modernize their armed forces.
The number of units ordered and the total value of the contract have not been disclosed. However, this procurement aligns with Kuwait’s ongoing military modernization efforts and its strategy to diversify its defense partnerships.
Turkey’s Baykar Defense has successfully exported the Bayraktar TB2 to numerous countries including Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Qatar, Poland, and several others, establishing itself as a major player in the global UAV market.
