Poland To Acquire Bombs, AMRAAM Missiles For Its F-16 Fighters
Polish F-16C Block 52 with AIM-9X-and- CTAM-120C AMRAAM missiles
Poland’s Armament Inspectorate on Saturday has placed a tender to acquire AMRAAM training missiles and 200 guided and 300 unguided bombs for its Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Jastrz?b fighters.
Poland aims at buying 32 practice CTAM-120C AMRAAM missiles, 100 GPS-guided GBU-38 JDAM Bombs (based on Mk. 82 500 lbs. bombs), 100 laser guided GBU-12 bombs (also based on the Mk.82 bombs) , 200 Mk. 84 unguided bombs (1000 lbs.), 100 Mk.82 bombs and 3000 CXU-3A/B practice bomb signal cartridges that are used to indicate the hit point of the dummy bombs as per the particulars of the tender.
The tender also states that it will involve five bidders in its final process and they must be experienced in supplying within the European Union.
The final date offer placing deadline expires on 2nd March 2015.
-Poland Buys JASSM Missiles
Poland is given a nod on a possible Foreign Military Sale of Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles and F-16 Operational Flight Plan upgrades for an estimated cost of $500 million.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale on September 17, 2014.
The Government of Poland has requested a possible sale of 40 AGM-158A Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles (JASSM), 2 AGM-158A JASSM Live with Test Instrumentation Kit (TIK) and Flight Termination Systems (FTS), 2 AGM-158A JASSM Inert with TIK and FTS, and 2 Flight Certification Test Vehicles.
The sale also includes operational Flight Plan upgrade to M6.5 tape for the Polish F-16C/D Block 52 aircraft to include JASSM integration, missile containers, spare and repair parts, support and test equipment, publications and technical documentation, personnel training and training equipment, U.S. Government and contractor engineering, technical, and logistics support services, and other related elements of logistical and program support.
